     - structure and cohesion

Activities designed to help students with organization were used both as a jumping off point in the writing process and also as a way to organize the content after it had been generated. The focus of the organization activities was primarily to help students identify main ideas and group related sentences together. This was the first time the majority of the students were introduced to the concept of a paragraph and it was an exciting eye opening moment.
