Adult Education
At PRY adult education is instruction that leads to economic self-sufficiency. The program offers high-quality instruction to English language learners (ELL) to promote adult literacy, life and employment skills.
Evening and weekend classes are offered at different levels, with some classes devoted to adults who lack reading and writing skills, even in their native language. Developing English language and literacy skills is a priority for the many immigrant families of PRY, as it helps them in their goal to become naturalized U.S. citizens; empowers them in their role as their children's first teacher; and enables them to better adapt to their new surroundings and improve their quality of life. Additional services are offered to adults who are eligible for the USCIS naturalization interview, such as one-on-one case management services and small group tutorials.
